About mE
Wabi-sabi
is the traditional Japanese view or thought of finding beauty in every aspect of imperfection in nature. Things that come off of an assembly line, for example, are perfect, but things made by hand, like the glaze on a Japanese ceramic bowl, are imperfect. It is their imperfections that give them their beauty.
The same is true for my range of fashion accessories, It is the combination of imperfections in my hand-crafted creations that make them unique, beautiful and stylish.
I love the idea of wabi sabi as a metaphor for my work. My designs centre around this idea of a journey from only using raw sustainable materials which come alive in my hands and with my imagination are transferred into something new which give joy,
warmth and love.
The idea of ‘’uniqueness” is also the strategy for my website. You will see little things that are imperfect, for example the size of images next to each other, or photos of a hand bag next to a snood. I wanted my site to reflect the journey of creating unique items in the order they appear in my imagination. I believe that it is the imperfections in unique hand-crafted creations which helps us to appreciate that the imperfections in all of us make us feel human, unique and beautiful..
